How to Care for Cabinets
Cabinetry Care 101:
Typically a periodic dusting with a clean, damp, soft microfiber cloth will do the trick! Always be sure to clean up splatters on cabinets as soon as possible. If there is a buildup of gunk or a stubborn grease mark, dampen a cloth with a solution of 5% mild dishwashing liquid (not dishwasher products) mixed with 95% warm water and then wipe off excess cleaning solution with another clean, damp cloth.
The following should be avoided as they can damage your cabinets:
Draping damp or wet items on the doors. Permanent damage like peeling, bubbling, and discoloration can occur from the constant contact of moisture.
Harsh detergents, strong soaps, multi-purpose, and abrasive products, harsh chemicals such as bleach or ammonia.
The self-cleaning oven feature operates at a significantly higher temperature than normal cooking temperatures. Removing cabinet doors and drawers nearest to oven will minimize the risk of damage from excessive heat.
Kitchens and bathrooms should be well-ventilated in order to avoid over exposure to humidity.
Make sure never to lean on, stand on, or place heavy items to rest on cabinet doors or drawer faces. This will place unnecessary strain on the metal hardware and will damage the cabinet.
